HAWGSMOKE NEWS

Hawgsmoke is the bi-annual bombing and tactical gunnery competition of the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Squadrons from across the country and around the globe, as far away as South Korea and Germany, sent a team to fly and compete for the honor of “Best of the Best” in ground attack and target destruction. Hosted by the winners of the previous competition, Hawgsmoke is an intense competition and an opportunity to share in the camaraderie and fellowship of the world’s premier Close Air Support fighter, as well as legacy of its pilots and support crews.

In 2004, we had a complete Hogwash. It was solid rain ... flash flood quality rain that only Louisiana can throw … for the entire Hawgsmoke weekend minus 4 hours one day. It was a disaster for aviation and golf but we partied like Rock Stars.

In 2006, DM hosted it. the website is down now ... sorry.

Hawgsmoke 2008 will be hosted by the 303d Fighter Squadron October 2008 in Salina, Kansas.

Hosting the Best Damn Hawgsmoke EVER!

It's a big honor to win Hawgsmoke. It's an even bigger honor to host Hawgsmoke. Fortunately they go hand in hand. The 303d Fighter Squadron has some big plans. Previous Hawgsmoke's have continued to be better than the last. They are making every effort to continue the trend.
